Kitch’n Lyfe Skills for Life Training Class & Graduation

Chef Ze’ Carter writes a column for the Daily Commercial. Her Kitchen Skills class prepared the women of Ruth House to take the Florida Food Handlers test. We started the class with ten women and at the conclusion of the class, eight women were awarded with food handler cards. These skills give women an edge up on employ-ability within the food industry. The class concluded with a graduation ceremony on January 18th. The women prepared a gourmet lunch of turkey salad on mixed greens and apply rose pastries for dessert. Umatilla City Counsel woman, Laura Wright, and United Way Spokesperson, Michelle Port, attended the ceremony. The meal was delicious and a good time was had by all. Thank you Chef Ze’ for investing in the lives of these women!
